چکیده
Abstract Despite being a simple and inexpensive pretreatment technology, the cost-effectiveness of riverbank filtration (RBF) depends on complex hydrogeological hydrogeochemical variables. One most important issues for decision makers regarding RBF is optimal site selection. Therefore, methodology multicriteria evaluation large-scale schemes offered. The primarily designed as prescreening method, applied over wide area, but can also serve guide evaluating individual sites. To facilitate further discussion about improvements methodology, reasoning behind each relevant factor its weight in presented. divided into three sequential steps through which be assessed. first step to establish existence connectivity between river aquifer. This termed essential criterion, binary determination suitability. If determined suitable, it then assessed via set quantity criteria, measure aquifer capacity amount bank filtrate that effectively abstracted. Lastly, water quality criteria are by means surface-water groundwater quality. form result expressed suitability index (SSI), ranges from 0 1, where higher scores represent increased Finally, evaluate existing sites application demonstration applicability. success these compared calculated SSI value discussed.

Riverbank filtration potential of pharmaceuticals in a wastewater-impacted stream.
Pharmaceutical contamination of shallow groundwater is a substantial concern in effluent-dominated streams, due to high aqueous mobility, designed bioactivity, and effluent-driven hydraulic gradients. In October and December 2012, effluent contributed approximately 99% and 71%, respectively, to downstream flow in Fourmile Creek, Iowa, USA. Strong hydrologic connectivity was observed between sur...
متن کاملA Fuzzy Decision-Making Methodology for Risk Response Planning in Large-Scale Projects
Risk response planning is one of the main phases in the project risk management and has major impacts on the success of a large-scale project. Since projects are unique, and risks are dynamic through the life of the projects, it is necessary to formulate responses of the important risks. The conventional approaches tend to be less effective in dealing with the impreciseness of risk response p...
متن کاملRiverbank filtration for control of microorganisms: results from field monitoring.
Microbial monitoring was conducted over a period of more than 1 year at three full-scale riverbank filtration (RBF) facilities, located in the United States along the Ohio, Missouri, and Wabash Rivers. Results of this study demonstrated the potential for RBF to provide substantial reductions in microorganism concentrations relative to the raw water sources. Cryptosporidium and Giardia were dete...
متن کاملEvaluation of Close-Range Photogrammetric Technique for Deformation Monitoring of Large-Scale Structures: A review
Close-range photogrammetry has been used in many applications in recent decades in various fields such as industry, cultural heritage, medicine and civil engineering. As an important tool for displacement measurement and deformation monitoring, close-range photogrammetry has generally been employed in industrial plants, quality control and accidents. Although close-range photogrammetric applica...
متن کاملRiverbed Clogging and Sustainability of Riverbank Filtration
Clogging refers to a reduction of riverbed hydraulic conductivity. Due to difficulties in determining the thickness of the clogging layer, the leakage coefficient (L) is introduced and used to quantify the recoverable portion of bank filtrate. L was determined at several riverbank filtration (RBF) sites in field tests and using an analytical solution. Results were compared with data from simila...
